Poila Boisakh celebrations 2018

Hello everyone!

On April 15, 2018, we had 'Poila Boisakh' celebrations in Durga Residency which was planned by our lady brigade and executed by the association. Sharing some photographs that I clicked on my cell phone on that day (please excuse the poor quality).

But yes, moments to remember for a lifetime.

Hoping to have many such events in near future.

😇

Signing off,

From the editor's desk:

It gives me great pleasure to let all of you know that as per information received, one of our residents Muskan Singh bagged the first prize in acting defeating every north zone school of Kolkata. The moment was captured in the media as well. On this momentous occasion, we wanted her to pen down her thoughts on the achievement and also, how she feels about her career going forward. Read on.

The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow!

Everyone is different.
Different people have different values, interests, and hobbies.
They have different goals and aspirations. No one is perfect. Everyone has their flaws and weaknesses. But it's all about acceptance. We need to understand that marks and grades in academics are not only things that are required.

Besides studying, I am interested in singing and acting; even though I know that it can't be my career,  it's not that am being pressurized by my parents,  it's all about my interests and dream of my parents.
Since class 6 I started acting in school as the main actress. ..and I achieved many prizes for acting and singing, not because I do it to achieve fame or for being popular, it's just because I love to do it and I do them with all my heart.
It's a known fact that great people have been raised by amazing parents. As a teenager, and a child,  I feel that perfect parents are those who don't give unbridled freedom to their children but impose some restrictions too.
We, teenagers, fight and argue with our parents Why?
Because we tend to feel that we are superior.
I was one such kid who rebelled against parental guidance but now I strongly feel that I was wrong.
We have been raised to become good human beings, not robots.
If parents don't expect the best from their children then from whom will they ?
Isn't it their right to feel on top of the world when their children achieve something big?
They make us take pride in for everything we do.
Respect and love are the only things that our parents ask from us, on the other side we demand many useless things.

Maybe just for once we could take some time  out to appreciate the unconditional love, and affection and concern that they have shown us and by giving us the unstinted support...so that's  the reason I want to be doctor which is not just a dream of my parents and grandparents but also the result of their love and blessings.

I will try my best to achieve my goals and be the reason for their smile.
And I promise the reaction would be worth their time and ours too. The smile that you will see on their face will light up your day and your life.
